Questions before you notarize?
Here are clear answers based on Florida notary requirements and practical service boundaries.
Can a Florida online notary notarize for someone outside Florida?
Florida law allows an online notary physically located in Florida to perform an online notarization that meets statutory requirements even if the principal or witnesses are outside Florida. If the principal is outside Florida, the principal must confirm a desire for the act to be performed by a Florida notary under Florida law.
Does the signer need to be present?
Yes. Florida law prohibits notarizing a signature if the signer is not present at the time of notarization. For RON, presence is through qualifying audio-video communication technology.
What identification is needed?
For traditional notarization, the notary must personally know the signer or have satisfactory evidence of identity. For RON, identity may require remote presentation of government-issued ID, credential analysis, and identity proofing.
Can you tell me what notarial act I need?
No. We can perform lawful notarial acts, but we cannot choose the notarial wording or provide legal advice. Ask the receiving party or a licensed attorney if you are unsure.
Can you notarize an incomplete document?
A notary generally may not notarize a signature on an incomplete or blank document. Have the document completed before the appointment, except for signature and notarial certificate areas that must be completed during the session.
How much can a Florida notary charge?
Florida law states that a notary public fee may not exceed $10 for a notarial act under Part I, except as otherwise provided. Florida law separately allows up to $25 for performing an online notarial act under Part II. Other disclosed service fees, such as RON provider services or travel, may be separate when applicable.
Do you prepare legal forms?
No. OneClick Notary does not prepare legal forms, draft language, or provide legal advice.
