Remote Online Notary

Online notarization for Florida-governed notarial acts.

Remote Online Notarization, often called RON, allows the signer to appear before a registered online notary through audio-video communication technology when Florida Chapter 117 requirements are met.

RON Checklist
  • Complete electronic document
  • Signer present by audio-video
  • Government-issued identification credential
  • Credential analysis and identity proofing when required
  • Consent to Florida law when signer is outside Florida
How It Works

A guided online session from upload to completion.

01

Submit

Share basic information about the document and the signer. Do not sign before the session unless instructed by the receiving party.

02

Review

We confirm whether the document appears ready for a notarial act and whether any witnesses or special handling may be involved.

03

Verify

The signer appears by approved audio-video technology and identity is confirmed through the required process.

04

Complete

The online notarial certificate is attached to the electronic record when the session can lawfully proceed.

What Florida Requires

Identity, appearance, security, and records matter.

For online notarization, Florida law requires the online notary to confirm identity at the time the signature is taken using audio-video communication technology and record the two-way audio-video conference session.

Florida law also requires secure electronic journals for online notarizations and retention of journal and audio-video recordings for at least 10 years after the notarial act.
